While there are innumerable discussions about topics in the areas of data architecture, data engineering or analytics, my goal here would be to dive into practical and specific problems that I have dealt with in large scale data management frameworks and its applications.
I will also explore the implementation of some of these ideas in the areas of information security and technology risk management. There is recognition in general in the industry that every department within an organization, including information security be data driven. However often we scratch the surface of what it really means. Other times we go to the extremes by chasing the next shiny object without having the necessary foundational data platform to support such data driven decision making
Occasionally, I might discuss tool choices on solving specific problems. By no means, the solutions are perfect nor do I strive to provide one. Being in the data analytics business for over two decades now I know that different situations dictate different solutions for the same set of issues. Hence my goal would be to describe what solutions have worked under specific circumstances. Feel free to consume what you see fit for your particular situation.
